My Journey from Business Strategist to Self-Discovery & Transformation Life Coach
Hey there, welcome. I’m really glad you’ve found my blog. I thought I’d begin by sharing a bit about how I got here, how my business has evolved and the reasons behind the changes I’ve made. If you’ve been feeling like something in your life or work needs a shift, I hope my story will remind you that it’s perfectly okay to make adjustments when something doesn’t feel right anymore. In fact, it’s often necessary.
How It All Began: A Curiosity About People
My journey actually started quite a long time before I even thought about becoming a life coach. I’ve always been interested in people - what motivates us, how we think and how we evolve. Back at university, I studied human geography, fascinated in how we all navigate throughout this world. This then led me to continue my studies and did a master’s degree in Sustainability, where I explored behavioural changed in relation to environmental issues.
While I really enjoyed the academic side, the work I went onto do in the corporate world was focused more around systems and processes than working with people directly, so I started to feel like something wasn’t quite clicking.
Exploring New Directions: Online Business & Travel
So, I decided to try something different. I had a feeling for a long time that I wanted to work for myself, so I started my own online business in strategy and marketing. Alongside the desire to work for myself was being able to work remotely so I could travel. At the start of setting up my business I worked from different cities around Europe and loved the flexibility and freedom to explore new places and cultures, while still doing work I enjoyed.
But, as with many things, life changed again. In 2020, like so many of us, I had to pause my travel plans. The world slowed down and I found myself in a new situation. During this time, I decided to buy my first home with my partner. It felt like a good, stable step at the time and we settled into a new life in Liverpool.
However, after living in the house for a couple of years, I started to feel like something wasn’t quite right. I wasn’t living in alignment with the kind of life I truly wanted. It was a quiet but important realisation and it made me really consider what my life and business looked like. This period of reflection became a turning point for me, not only in my personal life but also in my business.
A Shift Towards Coaching
As I thought more about what I wanted, I started to join the dots in my mind and really listen to what interested me, and I came back to working with people. Helping individuals explore their potential, make changes and lead more fulfilling lives. I’d been helping businesses grow for years, and had really enjoyed working with business owners but I was still focused on the systems and not the individual. So I decided to look into training as a life coach, it wasn’t something I’d ever considered before, but I started to realise it was exactly the kind of work I’d been trying to find.
Becoming a Self-Discovery Life Coach
Today, my work brings me so much joy. I get to work with free-spirited, joyful, resilient individuals who feel stuck between who they are and who they think they should be. Together, we figure out what they truly want, by reconnecting with themselves, rediscovering what’s important, letting go of beliefs that are holding them back, building deeper trust in their decisions and feel confident as they shape a life that's their own.
My approach is all about giving you the space to reflect, explore and evolve. I’m not here to tell you what to do, but rather to guide you through the process of finding your own path, at your own pace.
The Reality of the Journey: Taking It Slow
The journey of getting to do this work, took time. I went through my own process of reconnection, rediscovery and realignment to figure out where I was not living my life for me. This of course brought up big feelings of uncertainty and frustration, but it’s so empowering to give yourself the space to think and hear your own thoughts of what you really want. I knew it was important to make sure the decisions I was making were right for me, both personally and professionally.
A Gentle Reminder: It’s Okay to Evolve
If you’re reading this and you’re feeling a little uncertain about where you’re headed, I want to remind you that it’s okay to take your time to figure things out. We’re all constantly evolving and that means our lives can - and should - evolve with us. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is take a step back and listen to what feels right. There’s no rush.
What You Can Expect From Working With Me
As a Self-Discovery Life Coach, my focus is on helping you create a life that feels truly yours, letting go of expectations, quietening external noise and the pressure to tick off certain boxes. Stepping away from what you’ve been told you should do with a deeper trust and confidence in yourself to shape a life that reflects who you are.
Coaching isn’t about telling you what to do; it’s about providing you with the space and tools to make your own decisions and take steps that feel aligned. It’s a journey of self-discovery and I’m here to walk that path with you.
Conclusion
It’s been quite a journey to where I am now as a Self-Discovery Life Coach, nothing in life is linear and this journey has been a reminder of that.
