Why I decided to shift my business and embrace change

If you’re new here, welcome! I thought for my first blog it makes sense to share my journey and how my business got to what it is now. I decided to make some changes to my business in 2023, giving it a new name, new visuals and new offerings. But I wanted to share why I felt the need to make these shifts and a reminder that it's okay to make changes in your business if things no longer feel right for you anymore.

What changes did I make to my business:

  • I changed my business name! The old name no longer felt relevant, as I hadn’t been offering virtual assistance support for a few years and the name just felt a bit confusing, I will miss the name but it was time for a new one!

  • I loved my branding but as I've evolved personally in my style and how I express myself, my old branding didn't reflect that and I was ready to bring some bright, bold vibes to my business.

  • More travel! I started this business to travel, see the world, and not be sat at the same desk everyday, but it's felt harder to do that since buying our house, and the business has felt less fulfilling without being able to travel.

What you can now expect from me and my business :

I’d felt for a while that I wanted to support business owners with more than just Instagram and not focus my work solely around the app. It also hadn’t felt good for me to be on it as much as I had been over the last few years. So this was probably the biggest shift in my business, I now support my clients with their business and marketing strategy, and develop your own approach for showing up and marketing your online business.

I also really wanted to support particularly women in business around how they work, how our energy levels, productivity, creativity, need for rest plays a huge part in how we work. I love supporting female business owners to build a business around how they work so they can be more productive, focussed, balanced, rested, but still grow their business.

Some reality of this journey:

It has took me nearly a year to figure out how I wanted to shift my business. A lot of tears, frustration, uncertainty because I wanted to make sure that the direction and decisions I made for myself and my business were intentional and felt right, so patience and trust was very important. But now as you’re reading this I am so glad I went through those harder months, to be able to expand my business to support more clients and myself.

A reminder for you too that it’s okay to give yourself space and time to work out what is best for you in your business because we're always evolving and changing and that means it’s important that our business evolves with us too.
